offensive line at the division one school as a true freshman for a year and a half. In 2010, Ben decided to take his life in a different direction, and made the decision to join the United States Marine Corps. football to the weight and strength requirements of the USMC. During that time, he worked as a personal trainer at Powerhouse Gym under a certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In the summer of 2010, Ben enlisted as a machine gunner in the United States Marine Corps. His enlistment included two deployments, in Southeast Asia and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After his second deployment, he was appointed the director of the Body Composition Program, as well as the executive Combat Conditioning Instructor, where he worked with his fellow marines to improve their overall health, body weight, and physical fitness standards.
